When do we run?
We run every Wednesday evening at 6.30pm between February and November, meeting in Sefton Park or Central Station, with monthly events from Black Lodge at 12 noon on the first Saturday of each month.
Keep an eye out on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter for route details and where we'll be heading for post-run drinks!
How far do we run?
We run a 5k distance for all our planned runs. Our routes vary depending on where we're finishing the run, with everyone starting and finishing in the same location.
Am I good enough?

People often ask "am I good enough to run with you?" Yes, of course you are! We welcome runners of all abilities! There is no elitism and we have run leaders for various paces to ensure nobody gets left behind.
Club Captain Andrew, Vice Captain Oliver and our Run Leaders are all UK Athletics Qualified Group Leaders, which means all Runners are insured when they head out with us.

Our Clubhouse is located at Black Lodge Brewery in the Baltic Triangle. Following each monthly run, everyone receives a complimentary beer! Plus, every runner also benefits from a 20% discount on all drinks in Black Lodge post-run. Please do join us!
We also encourage runners to invite family and friends along for the social aspect following each run. Black Lodge is also a child friendly and dog friendly venue!

We offer a completely free, casual membership. Simply turn up to one of our runs, complete a registration form and can run with us whenever you want!
Our club is affiliated with England Athletics. We offer an annual membership package at £36 for 2025/26, inclusive of annual affiliation fee to England Athletics.

Our club is affiliated with England Athletics. We offer an annual membership package at £36 for 2025/26, inclusive of annual affiliation fee to England Athletics.
There are many benefits available to our affiliated members. These include reduced race entry fees, partner offers such as discounted running apparel and product trials. We will also have additional local offers unique to affiliated members of Mikkeller Running Club Liverpool!
As an affiliated club member, you will receive a unique key tag which brings you 20% discount at our clubhouse Black Lodge at all times – including online orders, and a mixed 6 pack of Black Lodge beer on your birthday. We will also have two brewery days a year to brew an official club beer, with everyone getting a complimentary 6 pack when packaged!
We offer additional structured training sessions for those interested, and have partnered with Kukri to make club kit available at a reasonable price. Anyone who runs with us can represent the club at races by sporting club colours, and where possible entering as Mikkeller Running Club Liverpool.
Aside from discounted race entry, affiliated members also have the opportunity to earn competition points for the club when participating in the Merseyside Grand Prix race series. You also have the opportunity to compete in the Merseyside Cross Country Championships and Merseyside Track and Field Championships.
The club will remain free to all who do not wish to sign up to the affiliated membership package. Running is for everyone. If you can run, regardless of pace or distance… you are a runner, and we want you to run with us.
We have recently opened our online team shop, which is open year round for ordering training kit and leisurewear. This features a range of t-shirts, hoodies, jumpers, shorts and track pants, branded with our club logo. Our bespoke racing kit is produced on demand, available during specific ordering periods. This includes options of a vest and t-shirt in both men’s and women’s fit, alongside shorts. We will advise in due course in relation to the next opportunity to place an online order.
All kit is available to both affiliated and regular club members. We do however request that affiliated members order the full race kit.

Runners are welcome to meet at Black Lodge from 11.30am, where you can leave any belongings securely. Following a short briefing, we will head out at 12 noon promptly for a leisurely 5km run and take in

Following a short briefing, we will head out at 12 noon promptly for a leisurely 5km run and take in Liverpool’s fantastic waterfront. The run will end at Black lodge, where each runner will receive a complimentary beer – with festivities kicking off at 1pm.
Running on the day really is optional, feel free to bring your friends and family along for the festivities. Black Lodge is family friendly – kids and dogs are welcome. We will have space set aside, with activities to keep little ones entertained!
Charity fundraiser
Mikkeller Running Club Liverpool has developed a close partnership with Love, Jasmine. Established in 2016, Love, Jasmine is a Liverpool-based charity, set up to assist bereaved families who have suffered the loss of a child. All funds raised at the event will go to Love, Jasmine and help them continue to reach out to those who require their support.
Live music
No party is complete without some good tunes. We will have some fab music for you to groove along too playing throughout the afternoon!
Cake bake
How can you celebrate without cake?! Our club pastry chefs will be cooking up some treats for everyone to get stuck into. From cupcakes to brownies, we have enjoyed many baked treats at our previous events thanks to our talented bakers.
Raffle
Everyone loves a good raffle! And even more so when there are beer related items to be won. Many local businesses have kind donated fab prizes! Beers, bar tabs and gift vouchers can be won on the day, courtesy of good friends from breweries and bars across the city.
Guess the weight
We also have a bottle of top gin to be won, as the ever-popular ‘Guess the weight’ returns once again! Following the launch of this competition at our second anniversary event featuring a melon, various fruits and vegetables have played a starring role. Join us on the day to see what item will take centre stage on the scales!
Auction
Another staple of our charity events is the auction! We have a good few items courtesy of Mikkeller Running Club’s Copenhagen HQ to auction off, alongside a few more that will certainly appeal to football fans, both red and blue.
These events really are good fun. It will be great to have as many people involved as possible on the day to help raise important funds for such an important small local charity.

The Philosophy of Mikkeller Running Club is to stay fit through running, whilst enjoying the good things in life. Few would dispute that exercise is good for your body, soul and general health; however, we believe that beer is too… Keeping fit makes us capable of enjoying more of the good life – which includes quality food and drink. It's all about balance!

OUR CHARITY PARTNERSHIP WITH LOVE, JASMINE
Mikkeller Running Club Liverpool has an ongoing partnership with Love, Jasmine having built a close relationship over the past five years.
Following successful Club Anniversary and Christmas events, funds have been raised to help Love, Jasmine grow since the charity was founded in late 2016. A Liverpool based charity, Love, Jasmine was set up to support bereaved families who have suffered the loss of a child.
Following personal bereavement, Rob and Kathy Lapsley recognised the need for a charity of such nature to help support other families who experience what they have been through. In memory of their caring - and sports-loving - daughter Jasmine, the charity bearing her name provides a fitting legacy to support others.
Rob Lapsley of Love, Jasmine: “We were delighted to hear that we were going to receive support from Mikkeller Running Club Liverpool. As a charity, we’ve grown so much in the last few years, and the continued support of this club and its runners is greatly appreciated. These vital funds will help us continue to provide a holistic approach to supporting bereaved families across the area.”
As a club, we feel very privileged to be in a position to actively help Love, Jasmine make a difference to those they reach out to. We have a group of supportive runners who enjoy getting involved in the events we host, whilst local businesses are very hospitable in providing prizes for our fundraising efforts. There is a friendly and supportive culture within the club, and our runners are very generous in supporting teammates who seek sponsorship for their individual fundraising efforts.
Love, Jasmine is a charity we have grown very close to. We are delighted to continue our support and very much look forward to hosting forthcoming charity events to celebrate the life of Jasmine, and help raise significant funds to assist others through bereavement.

FORTHCOMING CHARITY EVENTS
Successful events over the past several years have raised funds for Marie Curie, KIND and Love, Jasmine. Our usual events in the year include our Anniversary Celebration in July and our Christmas Party in December. Both events will take place in Black Lodge and feature live music, cake bake, auction and prize draw with even more fabulous prizes to be won… of course, not forgetting our firm favourite ‘Guess the Weight’ competition!
